You’ll find everything from high-quality handmade pieces with real craft behind them to mass-produced tourist goods with Bali labels slapped on. The difference is immediately visible to anyone who knows what to look for. After 20+ years visiting workshops across the island, I have a reliable sense of which makers are genuine craftspeople and which are producing volume at the expense of quality.

Mixing categories in one container
Home decor orders almost always work best alongside other product categories. A container with furniture, some stone, and home decor pieces is the most cost-efficient approach for most buyers. Textiles from Bali are the easiest addition, because they weigh almost nothing and fill the gaps left by heavier goods.
I coordinate across categories, finding the right suppliers for each product type and consolidating everything into one shipment. One cargo booking, one set of export documents, one point of contact. This is the core of what I do as a Bali sourcing agent.
