Shipping from Bali is more involved than most buyers expect. It’s not just “put it in a box and send it.” There’s cargo booking, export permits, packing standards, loading supervision, and coordination between multiple parties, in a country where things don’t always run to international timelines. I’ve been managing this process for 20+ years.
How shipping from Bali works
I work with one trusted cargo partner. It’s a relationship built over years, not a lowest-bidder search on a logistics platform. They know my standards. They know what careful handling means for furniture and stone. And in 20+ years they have never let a client of mine down.
Important: I coordinate the shipping process, meaning briefing, documentation, loading supervision, and updates. The actual freight is carried by my cargo partner, who is the licensed freight forwarder. I’m your point of contact throughout.
Why my shipping quote is the price you pay
Most Bali shipping quotes are estimates. The real invoice arrives after your container is loaded, adjusted for packing materials, extra documentation, fumigation, quarantine. By then your goods are sealed inside a container and you pay whatever it says. That is how a cheaper quote becomes a more expensive shipment.
I work with one cargo partner. After 20+ years they give me a fixed all-inclusive price. Once your container size is set, that number covers everything: documentation, packing materials, treatment certificates, loading, stuffing, inland trucking. It does not change based on what you ship or how it gets packed.
They also do not charge storage while you are working toward your next container. Buy more than fits and the rest waits in Bali. In 20+ years they have never charged one of my clients for this. Most forwarders give you one month, then bill by the cubic metre. Goods left with no shipping plan are covered in my terms and conditions.
They are not the cheapest starting number. They are the cheapest final invoice. And I do not mark up freight. You pay what my cargo partner quotes.
Shipping options from Bali
FCL, Full Container Load
A full 20ft or 40ft container, exclusively yours. Most cost-efficient for large orders. I supervise loading in person. This is the usual choice for natural stone from Bali, which reaches a container’s weight limit long before it fills the space.
LCL, Less than Container Load
Your goods share a container with other shipments. Good for smaller orders where you’re not filling a full container. More flexible, slightly longer transit due to consolidation.
Air Freight
Fastest option for small, high-value shipments. Significantly more expensive per kg. Used when timeline is critical.
Approximate transit times from Bali
Europe (Germany, Netherlands, UK, France): 28–35 days sea freight
Australia (east coast): 10–18 days · (west coast): 8–14 days
USA (West Coast): 20–28 days sea freight
USA (East Coast): 30–38 days sea freight
Middle East: 15–22 days sea freight
These are approximate and depend on direct vs. transshipment routing, carrier schedules, and port congestion. Actual times confirmed when cargo is booked.

I do not publish a fixed price list because rates change constantly. They depend on your container size, your destination and the time of year. What I can tell you is that I make my money on the sourcing commission, not on inflating shipping.
Frequently asked questions
Do you handle customs clearance at my end?
No. I handle the Bali export side: loading, documentation, getting your goods onto the vessel. Your local freight forwarder or customs broker handles clearance at destination. I can recommend what to look for in a good one.
Can you ship to anywhere in the world?
Anywhere with a port. I work with clients in Europe, Australia, USA, the Middle East, and Asia. If there’s a port, we can get there.
Will the shipping price change after loading?
No. Once your container size is set, my cargo partner gives a fixed all-inclusive price: documentation, packing materials, treatment certificates, loading, stuffing and inland trucking. It does not change based on what you ship or how it gets packed. Most quotes in Bali are estimates that get adjusted after loading. Mine is not.
Do you supervise the loading?
Yes, for FCL shipments I supervise the loading personally or with a trusted team member. Furniture and stone need to be packed and braced correctly. I don’t leave this to chance.
What paperwork travels with the container?
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading, and any treatment or phytosanitary certificates your destination requires. See export documentation for what applies to your goods. Regular shippers, particularly importers and wholesalers, find this gets faster with each container.
